PRE-KINDERGARTEN AND KINDERGARTEN PHILOSOPHY
The philosophy of education for the Early Childhood Program at Saint Brendan
Catholic Elementary School, aims to bring out God's gifts in each child
as they develop spiritually, physically, intellectually, culturally, and
socially.
Our objectives in teaching young children are:
1. To help the child know, love, and serve God.
2. To develop a positive attitude toward school.
3. To assist each child develop self-confidence as an independent learner.
4. To provide experiences that help build habits of concentration.
5. To help the child discover his/her creative intelligence and imagination.
6. To offer the child the kind of educational program that supports the child's self-esteem and pride in family, community, ethnic and linguistic heritage.
7. To make active learning the heart of the developmental process of the pre-school curriculum.
8. To provide adequate opportunity for the child to achieve by learning self-discipline and inner control.
9. To encourage respect for oneself, family, friends, country, neighborhood and the world in which we live.
10. To direct the child to learn and master the subject.
