Enrichment Program

Students in grades 3rd - 8th may qualify to participate in the Enrichment Program upon review of their student file for teacher's recommendation and Standardized Testing scores and the approval of the parents.  Third grade students will be notified after the results of the Standardized Testing are received sometime before Christmas recess.  Parents of students from 4th - 8th grades will be sent a letter during the last week of September notifying them that their child qualifies for the program.  Parents should sign and return the acknowledgment found in the letter the next day.

The students meet with the Enrichment teacher in a separate learning resource room for one period per week and work in small groups on thematic units integrating Mathematics, Science, Reading and Social Studies skills with hands-on activities.

Students are required to complete and turn in any assignments they have missed while in Enrichment.  Students in the Enrichment program receive a Progress Report from the Enrichment teacher at the end of each semester (December and June) with their Report Card.

A student may be placed in a trial enrollment in the Enrichment program upon a second year of obtaining a test score lower than the required minimum score.  Parents will be contacted informing them of the student's status.
